Our fumigant is a rapid-acting, volatile, colorless flammable chemical used for fumigation of soil prior to planting certain crops and in the timber industry to control various insect pests and pathogens, nematodes, and weeds. It has been introduced into the fumigation market as a viable and non-Ozone depleting alternative to the now commonly banned Methyl Bromide. Although it has toxic qualities, it is safe to use when applied in controlled environments as per regulatory standards, which apply to all fumigants. It can be applied by different methods to different commodities.
Upcoming Products
One product will be a safe, non-residual way to protect your post-harvest produce, packaged and stored foods and processing equipment. The active ingredient is Ethyl Formate – a naturally occurring, non-residual substance with zero ozone depleting potential. Ethyl Formate is generally regarded as safe (GRAS) by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It has low mammalian toxicity but rapidly kills insect pests. It is approved in a number of countries for control of insect pests of post-harvest commodity. It is suited to a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, cut flowers, and the list of regulatory approvals is expanding rapidly.
Our third product will be based on HCN, a rapid acting, colorless, flammable fumigant used for the treatment of empty structures to control stored-product insects. The fumigant has great disinfestation and derealization effects due to its excellent distribution and penetration properties. Its effectiveness in one-time fumigation with a short exposure and its outstanding efficacy against a whole range of pests. HCN is found in nature as natural protection used by plants and their seeds. It is not an ozone-depleting chemical and a viable alternative to ozone-depleting methyl bromide and to break the phosphine resistant insects
